One of the most common question people ask me: How do you choose fonts for websites and mobile apps?
I use different methods for each particular scenario, but today I want to show you the one I use most often, especially when the company doesn't have brand fonts yet.
You can use this method for building brand identity, for UI designs, for mobile apps and web apps, and any type of landing pages and websites.
How to choose fonts. Keywords method:
Step 1. Make a list of keywords associated with this product, brand or company.
Step 2. What typeface characteristics combine all these keywords together?
Step 3. Select the chosen keywords and switch between typeface that have those characteristics you defined.
Final step. Apply the "winners" on a website or UI design in different scenarios to pick one that works the best.
